When I was trying for my daughter 10 years ago I went by BBT and thought it was pretty accurate. I have heard the OPKs are really accurate, too, though so I don't know.

 
A BBT spike (or progesterone testing) will show that ovulation did actually happen. So it's possible that while you're getting a positive OPK, you may not actually be ovulating when you think you are. I continue to have positive opk for 1 or 2 days after the peak one but i know LH is coming down at that point. If you have a 30 day cycle I would start testing one opk a day starting around day 12 and then do twice a day on days 14/15 (or whatever days ...Every cycle I have been able to measure the LH surge, and also the temp increase when I have ovulated and drop in BBT when AF is arriving. My FP/Ovulation has been all over the place though, so literally I measure OPK 2 times a day just to make sure I don't miss it.
