In my experience, the Mark III is the most powerful and clearest of all FG models. Very direct sound. I prefer something a little more complex, so I favor the Mark IV over the Mark III. And I prefer something slightly darker, so I prefer the Mark II over the Mark IV.In many ways, the Kessler reminded me of blowing into a Yamaha 62. The tone, however, is nothing like that of either Yamaha, or Selmer. The tonal color is dark, and very different than any other modern tenor I've ever played.
