I have a system with an early Rainbird ESP controller that had a fried transformer. I checked ohms on all station wires before replacing with a new transformer but it blew the new one too on station four. Found the valve in question and was an old black wire Hunter solenoid that was obviously bad. Bulged/melted.Residential Installation (Indoor use only).
