Faster scanning. Like 25-50% faster plowing through conventional channels, or 100-120 channels/second vs 80 for the x36. The screen is much clearer than the displays of the x36 scanners. MUCH CLEARER.

The ONLY Uniden scanner that does not require power to the GPS is the SDS200 with the SGPS module, it is powered directly from the SDS200.SDS100 is a good radio if you can find one available, the SDS radios are the only consumer scanners that are successful with simulcast Distortion secondary to LSM. They work great on simulcast systems while other radios will have difficulties. There have been some quality control issues with a series of specific problems.Without the lock symbol printed next to the power button it could cause a lot of confusion when the keypad stopped responding after being locked. Ironically in early versions of Sentinel you could set the "Keypad Lock" option to On for the SDS100 and the keypad would be actually be locked after writing to the scanner so *part* of the keyboard ...There is output indicating the SDS-100 Sub-processor. If you type a lower-case ASCII charactor from a limited set (dhlmoqrwz), several lines of formatted ASCII numbers are sent from the scanner. Check with your motherboard manufacturer or PC maker. The micro can be used to power only. The mini powers and will charge simultaneously if enabled. Arrived on time, in new condition, all was well. Functionality of this scanner is fantastic. Programming is a breeze. Handles simulcast better than any other scanner out there. On the SDS100, the antenna connector is recessed somewhat into the case, so a standard BNC Female -> SMA Male does not fit correctly. (It's recessed to maintain water-resistance.) I am completely ignorant to the proper use of quick keys and the best strategy for using favorites lists to my advantage. Look at the specs for the bottom one, that comes with a cable. It's 5 volts at 3.4 amps. Of the other two, the top one is 4.8 amps, and the second one is 4.8 amps, or if using both ports, 2.4 amps per port. Your SDS100 will want just a little under 2 amps to be able to charge while also scanning..
