The main use for Karils is Magic Defence and I believe it is the strongest Magic Defence armor without a Melee Attack negative, which is why you might see it used more for Melee than for Ranged. Really though you should reconsider your gear, Mage: all melee brothers, karil. Range: ahrim. Spec: ahrim (even msb (i) spec, or dds, but ideally claws) Melee: skeletons, bloodworms for kc. Or if you’re BPing you can get kc with bp and not bring melee gear at all.The Karil's crossbow, heck almost the entire set besides the leather top has no uses outside of fashionscape & being flip merched, not even a niche use like it's brother set Verac's for some bosses as it is vastly inferior to the level 50 Magic Shortbow (I) in almost every single aspect but that miniscule accuracy bonus.Kbow is 106gp per shot, blowpipe is 77gp per shot and 1/5 chance of breaking a dart. So 77gp + 20% of the price of whatever dart you're using, with mith = 11.8+77 = 89gp per shot. Blowpipe with mith darts is significantly higher in both damage per second and damage per shot than the kbow (67 range strength versus 55 range strength).You could practice/simulate fight caves in these worlds without the loss of supplies. I would say the dps increase from the Karil'ls compensates for the loss of prayer from the book (the longer you have to kill magers + have mage pray on the more ppots you use per wave). IMO if you dont have the money for a blowpipe - leave the fire cape for ... .
